Whether at home or on a hike or travelling the world, we often have a need for stand (kickstand) or tripod for hands-free operation of our smartphone camera. At home, we may need to set the phone up for a video call. Or we may want to take a timer photo of a group at a dinner party without doing a selfie shot. Similar needs occur during hiking and traveling. In addition, timer photos on a stand can be useful for taking night photos, or blurring a waterfall, or taking hands-free video of kids in action.
A full-fledged tripod is the most complete and sturdy solution, but how many people are going to carry a tripod and phone adaptor on all of their hikes and travels?

The SunPro Photo Sun Shield is a remarkably versatile stand that can position the phone in multiple orientations and easily fits in your pocket. You can take it everywhere you go. It also serves as a sun shield for those shots where you must shoot towards the sun (see our Sun Glare blog). The device attaches magnetically to your MagSafe case, so no bulky clamps are needed.

Between the rotating pivot rings and the adjustable flap, a kickstand can be created for both landscape and portrait modes with a wide variety of tilt angles, as shown in the series of photos below.

After using the Sun Shield as a kickstand or to block sun light, just fold it up and return to your pocket. Good luck on your travels!
